A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these products goes to fight breast cancer. This seemed an appropriate cause to donate to, not only because we care about women (indeed, our products help protect women), but because breast cancer struck the wives of two of our employees (see their story below).

In October 2012, (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) we presented our first donation check for $ 1,000 to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. By contributing to the fight against breast cancer we are helping to protect women (wives, mothers, daughters). It’s just one more way we are fulfilling our goal of protecting what matters most.

My name is Mike Carey, and I have been working for Cutting Edge Products, Inc. since 1993. I work in sales and operations for the company. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Miriam, since 1999 and we have twin boys, Aaron and Michael, who were born in November 2001. Since I work in the security products industry, I hear a lot about crime. And like any husband and father, I worry about the security of my family. Our city, Greenville, is a small city, but it has its share of crime, so naturally I am concerned about their safety. But imagine how “surprised” I was to learn that my wife’s life was threatened not by an external source, such as a robber or carjacker, but from something inside her very own body- cancerous cells! I dealt with a lot of emotions- fear of losing her, anger over what she went through, but through it all she was tough as nails, and she inspired me. As a proud member of the Cutting Edge Products family, I would like to share the testimony of my very dear friend Michelle Everette. On August 13, 2014, Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer. I truly believe you don’t know how much you can handle or go through until it happens to you. On September 23, 2011 I was told I had breast cancer. With my husband and mom with me, it reassured me I could get through this. Praise God at the time I found my lump (August 28, 2011) I didn’t put off going to have it checked. I was in the yard picking up limbs after the hurricane when I discovered the lump, told my husband about it and he told me to go have it checked.
